Techno Park attends Baku Telecom conference

The concept adopted by Dubai-based Techno Park to promote development through a culture of innovation in science and technology has attracted considerable attention at a conference on special economic zones in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The conference titled, `Special Economic Zones - New Trend of Sustainable Economy of Azerbaijan` was held on the sidelines of the 12th International Exhibition on Telecommunications and Information Technologies.
According to Abdullah Al Banna, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Techno Park, who attended the 4-day event said
`Special Economic Zones have gained acceptance rapidly around the world. The lead set by Dubai in successfully establishing and managing free zones has made deep impressions on governments around the world. Techno Park takes the concept further by focusing on cutting-edge science and technology and their application. The incentives and infrastructure facilities we offer attracts investors and institutions from around the world. The Azerbaijan conference provided a good opportunity to showcase Techno Park to the outside world, especially Central Asian countries.`
Some 120 companies from 20 countries attended the event and the conference was addressed by industry leaders and high-ranking government officials.
Earlier, the US-based multinational oilfield supply giant Baker Hughes signed an agreement to invest US$ 40 Million to set up high-tech training centre and operations facility in Techno Park to serve the oil and gas sector.
